Once "Clipper Cathay" with Pan Am, she was the 7th DC-8 built.

Hello Tony! I was searching the net for some informations about the DC-8, when I suddenly ended up on your side. It's very nice and interesting. I'm the Deputy Fire Chief and Incident Commander in Copenhagen Airport. As You see, LN-pip is still "alive" and we use for education and training of our fire fighters. If You want a "Normal" picture of the aircraft, You just let me know.

I photographed a DC-8 back a few months ago at a scrapyard in North Carolina (Laurinburg-Maxton Airport, MEB)
and I noticed there was no reference to this particular aircraft on your site, so I thought I would email you a photo and some information about the aircraft.
N8148A: Owned by Charlotte Aircraft Corp. DC8-33F, s/n 45267. Built in 1960 as a DC8-32. Served with PanAm as Clipper Caroline 1960-1968, reg as N814PA. in 1968 sold to Delta.

N900CLDouglas DC-8-33 c/n 44265/91 N900CL of Capitol International Airways in old c/s, at Zurich-Kloten, 02 Jul 1978 Capitol International were a US company mainly operating various models of the DC-8 on charter services. One of their non-fan DC-8s, N900CL, a series -33, was seen here on a late evening arrival on runway 14 on a charter service, wearing the carrier's old colours. N900CL was acquired in May 1975 and was originally built in 1960 for Pan American. Shortly after the photo was taken, the aircraft was sold to UAL Corp., and ended its days with Rosenbalm Aviation. It was last heard of as being stored in Medford,Oregon in June 1982. After a short excursion into the scheduled service business, Capitol folded their wings in the mid-eighties. After conversion to freighter and various stays with mainly Caribbean operators, the aircraft was acquired by Agro Air in late 1998, leased to Fine Air of Miami, and sub-leased to Venezuelan carrier Midas Airlines. It was seen at Miami in full Midas colours, giving the impression that it has been returned to (or repossessed by) the lessors, despite officially still being on lease to Midas.
